Thank God for Ringo!
by
Godwin Borg (January 1, 2006)
Blessed be the day that Italians started doing western movies or as we beter know them Spaghetti Wsterns, not just for the films' sakes only but also for the heaps and heaps of good music that these films caused to be composed!!! The film here; 100,000 Dollari Per Ringo is one of the finest examples of what I'm saying!!! Maestri BRUNO NICOLAI and ENNIO MORRICONE are for me the grandmasters par eccelance of the genre and on this one we have them both teamed up as composers! It's not easy to tell who wrote which particular cue but that's good in this case because it makes for a more solid an smooth listening experience. Fair mentionign though that Nicolai contributed more to the music o nthis CD. This film score is very rich in dramatic moments, there's music here that can make stones weep, alternating with intense action and suspense themes and of course the obligatory 'ridng towards the sunset' heroic themes! This is definitely one of the most diverse and beautiful scores ever written for the genre. Not to be missed by any fan of Spaghetti Western movies and soundtracks! A definitely full five out of five and a go buy it now recomendation. The GDM Club reissue features half an hour of previously unreleased material, giving us a beautiful over 72 minutes of musical ecstasy. Worth mentioning that also the 2 songs here are really great. Thanks GDM for the constant flow of great music! And thansk even more to Maestro Ennio Morricone and Late Maestro Bruno Nicolai for composing and conducting such a wonderful and truly monumental score!
