The Beverly Hillbilly's It Ain't!
by
Victor Valentine (November 7, 2006)

From the best selling novel Deliverance by James Dickey and starring Burt Reynolds (originally Clint Eastwood was intended for the role) comes a recording of contemporary bluegrass music performed by the lightning fast fingers of Eric Weisberg and Steve Mandel!

Only a couple tracks on this recording are actually used in the film. "Dueling Banjo's" (recorded a few years earlier as Feudin' Banjo's) and most of the other pieces on this 1972 Warner Brothers records production were originally released on the exceptional Electra records LP "New Dimensions In Bluegrass Music" several years earlier.

The film is an American classic. An all too rare example of near perfect film making! *****
