A mouth full of commendation

Another score Vladimir Cosma composed for a Pascal Thomas movie brings yet another fragment to the fructiferous (albeit eclectic) mosaic of their collaboration. This time the music is based on a theme song, sung by Marino Marini in Italian ! "Non si piange con la bocca piena" sets a warm Italian flavour to the score.
The string instruments, like guitar and harpsichord, also continue to lead the instrumental score tracks. In case of the main title, "Pédalo", the boosted electric guitar (hence the title) replaces Marini's vocals on the same theme. "Le nez d'Alexandre" is my personal favorite track on the score, due to the great irregular rhythm and clever addition of new instruments playing the same theme around and round.
On the CD re-edition of the original Polydor EP we can also find a short track titled "En famille", a slow variation on the Pédalo theme. After the dynamic tracks, it is a good closing tune with a keys/accordion arrangement.
