John Boy Walton Stars As James Dean Obsessed Hayseed In Box Office Failure!

Goofball movie starring Richard (John Boy Walton) Thomas as a James Dean obsessed hayseed is notable for the fact the soundtrack recording features Leonard Rosenman conducting exerpts of his original scores from "Rebel Without A Cause"/"East Of Eden".

Notable in the annals of soundtrack lore for re-use of the two previously mentioned scores the film was a dismal box office failure and forgotten shortly after it's release. About five minutes after as a matter of fact!

Needless to say the title of this film, "9/30/55" is taken from the date the actor died in an automobile accident. *****
