A Worthy Tribute to the Legendary Fair Lady.
by filmfactsman (February 21, 2005)
This glowing compilation of selections from the films of Audrey Hepburn include Henry Mancini's wonderful liner notes dedicated to his special friend. The best of the music is provided by Mancini himself: "Moon River" from "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Two For the Road", "Charade" and "Wait Until Dark", but there are memorable tracks from "How to Steal a Million", "The Nun's Story", "Robin and Marian", "Paris When it Sizzles" and the "My Fair Lady" Overture. The big mystery to me is the failure to include any of Audrey's vocals from "Funny Face" ("How Long Has This Been Going On?," "Bonjour, Paris!" "On How To Be Lovely," "'S Wonderful") instead of Fred Astaire's solo "He Loves and She Loves." They did, however, include Audrey's lovely vocal of "Moon River" taken directly from the film's soundtrack. Now that's something to celebrate!
