Mary, Queen of Scots DVD

Hello,

as has been discussed elsewhere before, there is a new double feature 2DVD set (Region 1) combining "Anne of the Thousand Days" & "Mary, Queen of Scots" (the latter scored by JOHN BARRY, of course). The Mary DVD includes an Isolated Music Only Track with Commentary by Nick Redman & Jon Burlingame. I thought that some of you might be interested in further technical information that I can provide now that I received the set a couple of days ago:

1) First, the - in my eyes - only bad news (for non-Americans): This is REALLY a REGION 1-only DVD set (unlike e.g. the 4DVD set of Ben-Hur), my Region 2 player would only play it after I used one of my five Region switches.

2) On to the nicer aspects: Redman and Burlingame strictly refrain from talking over the music, so there is NO OVERLAP OF MUSIC AND COMMENTARY (ok, there is: Twice, and each time perhaps 0.5 seconds)

3) There are APPROXIMATELY 50-51 MINUTES of music on the isolated music track. This includes both score and source music. In the commentary Burlingame states there were 47 minutes of score music, so I guess the remaining 3-4 minutes is non-original music. The old vinyl release had 27-28 minutes of music.

I guess these are the key infos needed. I hope this is helpful for anyone of you.

Best wishes,

Urs
