This soundtrack and 'Bandes Originales Des Films De François Truffaut'

Why don't these soundtrack have the same amount of music?
(i.e. Les Aventures D'Antoine Doinel)

12 tracks (29:02) vs 18 tracks (~50 mintues?).

I was happy to have found the US version, but disappointed to see how much more music was on the French/German versions. :(
