Question

Any word on James Bond 50th anniversary soundtrack reissues?

Been wondering if any announcement has been made about the James Bond
soundtracks getting reissued for the series' upcoming 50th anniversary? I
know that some copies are still available from the Capitol upgrades done
several years ago, I love them, they're great, but album producer Lukas
Kendall once described how plans to expand "The Man With The Golden Gun"
could not be realized due to Capitol's abrupt budgetary restraints. An
expanded "Moonraker" would be welcome too, even if the tapes reside in
France. Surely, if not redone for the 50th anniversary, when? (If ever?)

On another topic, what happened to this forum? This used to be a place of
knowledgeable opinions and resourceful answers. Now, it's like a flea market in
here.

You're right, James. This once used to be a place where you could
easily find information, as well as off-key fun. Don't know what
happened, but it took me a deep dig into my long-term memory to
catch a glimpse of these bygone days...

PS: How about exchanging your nick and signature to match the
reality: johnbarryisdead and godisfurry? ;))

Cheers,

David

I agree...I've thought for a long time (and commented in the past) that all "For Sale" type posts belong either in "Looking For A Soundtrack", or in a separate sale/trade area....not always cluttering up here.

Cheers to you David! I remember your post from several months ago, announcing
the sale of much of your collection. Considering that you were a knowledgeable,
and regular contributor to this forum, it was surprising. To what extent did you thin
your library?

P.S. johnbarryisdead? True, but it demotes his status!

About MOONRAKER.
Right now it looks like as if the tapes have been dumped when the recording studio in France closed and nobody - not even MGM - cared to save them.
So until some miracle happens - an expanded Moonraker will not happen.

And regarding the forum. A few years ago I made an attempt to suggest a way to improve SC. But I was barked at by users and mods and so I left.
I now only come here to the boards and have a quick look when I try to find some infos about releases. But many times unsuccesful like recently when researching Umebayashi's THE CHASER.

I stopped having fun when I relocated back to Ohio from sunny Florida where the marijuana is a lot less expensive and more women are willing to fornicate.

Hi James,

Thanks for asking. In fact, the thinning was hardly perecptible and
reached only about one percent. My fault, I had no blockbusters and
Goldsmiths to offer. :(

@knives: My condolences. But it's good to read, that changing the
state didn't have an effect on your state of mind. ;)

@goldsmithsonian

"I now only come here to the boards and have a quick look when I try to find some infos about releases. But many times unsuccesful like recently when researching Umebayashi's THE CHASER."

Many times unsuccessful? That's of course bullshit and you know that.
Name a website/database with more releases/labels etc than SC.

And another thing: a database is never complete. That's why it's a database..!

Ah...yes, great approach: Insult someone, very convincing strategy for persuasion.
