Unidentified OST (possibly Japanese, early '70s)

Hello there! I was wondering if someone here can identify the source of this music, heard in the Thai/Korean 1978 film Crocodile:

Originally I thought it was an original composition from the film, but as it turns out, it can also be heard in a trailer for 1972's Female Prisoner Scorpion: Jailhouse 1972 (warning graphic):

I suspect this cue (and others in Crocodile) is from some Japanese film from that period. Any clues?
