Space Camp
Is this version on ebay an official release? It has a barcode and I've never seen a bootleg with a barcode before, so I thought it might be an official release. Please let me know If anyone knows anything about it. Thanks.

It's not an official release. Don't let the barcode fool you. It's an unlicensed bootleg. However, it is a pressed silver CD (not CD-R) with professional glossy inserts, so the quality of the disc and packaging is top notch. I don't have this particular CD, but I do have some of the other bootlegs that have been released by the same people (they change the name of the record label with each release, but it's the same "company" that is manufacturing them). Here's an incomplete list of their releases to date, many of which are featured on their respective pages here on this very website (so Ton: please don't delete this post ;-) )

No, I won't delete this post.
You can find these bootlegs in the data base under the heading Bootlegs as a warning not to buy these. I am very careful in adding new bootlegs. In fact I don't add them any more, as some people already may have noticed, because it's too easy nowadays to start your own label(s) to make an easy profit that's not yours.
I am too much a film music lover to be part of the destruction of the film music industry. We have to support them, especially the smaller labels that take high risks in bringing us the music and the scores that are not of interest for the larger labels.
I hope I am not the only one who thinks this way..!?

I have a "copy" of Space Camp and it's quite decent. Sometimes tho, the film music industry drives us crazy for not releasing a great score of a great movie, or if it does, it's an edition with 100-200 copies. This is not fair, is it? Does this industry care about score lovers? peace.

So torn. I am more than happy to support whatever label releases my film scores. However, I find it increasingly frustrating that more and more simply release "music inspired by" or "music from" a motion picture, most of which contain 2 or 3 cuts of the original score. Worse still are the ones that don't release anything at all. Where are the Bruce Broughton scores of the 1980's? Where is Trevor Jones' The Dark Crystal? And yeah! Where is Space Camp? If the only ones who are willing to burn a CD of that score are using an LP version and recording it for me as a bootleg, I want it! Record companies, take note: There are people paying $75 for a recording from a bootlegger that would cost you 50 cents to do yourself (would I pay $25-30 for a limited release? You betcha). Get them back out there!

Hello =)
I've read that the original versions of the soundtrack were only released on
vinyl and audio casette in the United States, circa '86. However, I've read
that there were also about 1,000 CD's printed and released, but in Japan
only, which makes these cd's really rare. I saw an OG version on vinly for
auction at eBay today actually, the link you provided is no longer up. I would
have liked to have seen it. Here is the track listing to the original soundtrack:
01. "Main Title"
02. "Training Montage"
03. "The Shuttle"
04. "The Computer Room"
05. "Friends Forever"
06. "In Orbit"
07. "White Sands"
08. "SpaceCamp" [End Title]
09. "Viewing Daedalus"
10. "Max Breaks Loose"
11. "Andie is Stranded"
12. "Max Finds Courage"
13. "Re-Entry"
14. "Home Again
BTW, there was also one other 'official release', but it is just of the main
'Space Camp Theme' composed by John Williams. This track is on a film score
compilation CD entitled, "Star Tracks II".

My question concerning the 'Space Camp' soundtrack..
It doesn't seem there was ever a pop/rock version of the OST ever released.
I've looked and looked but have had no luck. That said, does anyone happen
to have or know of a track listing for the other songs featured in the movie?
Even an uncomplete list would be of great help.
Thank you in advance for your help. =)

In case anyone is interested, here is the link to the OST I saw on eBay today.
There are only five and a half hours left though.

I have the Space Camp LP and would love to dupe it down to CD format, I have alot of older Science Fiction LP's I want to convert down that are not on CD format nor can they be found in stores. I tried looking for Space Camp and now after reading this site, I know why I can't get it. May have to pull out the old stereo and dupe it onto an audio tape, of course now I have to go get a compact cassette player.
