New from Digitmovies...
24-Jun-2006 - Digitmovies in Italy goes on releasing a marvellous series of scores for classic Italian movies. To start is here Stelvio Cipriani's La Morte Cammina Con I Tacchi Alti (aka Death walks on high heels) shot in 1971 by director Luciano Ercoli. It's a Giallo that follows the Argento-school, with a serial killer dressed in dark and a women destined for violent death.
New presented is the first volume of the new series dedicated to the original soundtracks of the Italian Peplum, a genre that had a huge success from the late 1950s to the first half of the 1960s. The first movies of this kind were the famous Le Fatiche Di Ercole (aka Hercules) and Ercole E La Regina Di Lidia (aka Hercules Unchained) respectively directed in 1957 and 1958 by Pietro Francisci, starring the icon of international bodybuilding, Steve Reeves as Hercules and magnificently scored by Enzo Masetti.
Digitmovies continues its musical journey into the dimension of mystery and horror by releasing this fourth volume in their series dedicated to the Maestro of the Macabre, Mario Bava. This double disc set contains, for the first time ever, the complete original soundtracks from I Vampiri (aka The Devil's Commandment, 1957) with a score by Roman Vlad, and Caltiki Il Mostro Immortale (aka Caltiki The Immortal Monster, 1959), with music by Roberto Nicolosi, and both co-directed by Riccardo Freda (as "Robert Hampton") and Mario Bava (uncredited).
