Two new 'classic' releases from FSM
26-Jul-2001 - Again two new releases from Film Score Monthly! In the Golden Age Classics series from Hugo Friedhofer two scores, Between Heaven And Hell(1956) and Soldier Of Fortune(1955), conducted by Lionel Newman The entire CD is in stereo, and comes with the usually thorough FSM liner notes and packaging. It is a richly rewarding tip of the iceberg from the inspired career of Hugo Friedhofer.
In the Silver Age Classics series FSM has released another classic score, Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea(1961) with music by Paul Sawtell and Bert Shefter. Sawtell and Shefter were Hollywood workhorses but are seldom represented on CD. FSM addresses this oversight with a full stereo remix of the complete score to this genre classic.
