New from Intrada...
30-Mar-2009 - Intrada Records has presented in the Intrada Special Collection the world premiere release of Georges Delerue's score for the sentimental Henry Winkler drama, Memories Of Me. Delerue creates a brief but rich meld of evocative jazz (featuring the trumpet artistry of Jack Sheldon) with signature warm & melancholy orchestral scoring. This is the complete score, conducted by George Delerue, from mint condition multi-track stereo session masters stored in the MGM vaults, including Beethoven excerpt conducted by Delerue for the film. The compelling notes by Richard Kraft reflect on his own personal experiences with the legendary composer. This is a limited edition of 1,000 copies.
The second one, in Intrada's Signature Edition, is the world premiere of the original score to the second chapter of the lengthy mini-series, George Washington II: The Forging Of A Nation, directed on location by William H. Graham. (Laurence Rosenthal scored Part I.) Bruce Broughton writes in signature Americana mold, adds a degree of period flavor via a proud, patriotic main theme, then balances with rich, warm music reflecting new responsibilities in the office, with dramatic events following the Revolutionary War period of the U.S. history. Through courtesy of MGM, Intrada presents the entire CD in stereo from the composer's own 1/4" two-track tapes (multi-track master elements have long since vanished), including a handful of period chamber music pieces written by Broughton. This is a limited edition of 1,000 copies.
