Red Riding - Music From The Three Films
16-Apr-2009 - Silva Screen Records has released  Red Riding - Original Music From The Three Films. Red Riding is the centre piece of Channel 4’s winter drama slate with an all-star cast. The three feature length films are based on David Peace’s crime thrillers set in Yorkshire in the 1970s and 1980s, a time of paranoia, police corruption and the Ripper murders. There are three acclaimed British composers involved:  for Red Riding:1974 Adrian Johnston, who has been BAFTA nominated for The Lost Prince, Tipping The Velvet, Perfect Strangers and Our Mutual Friend. For Red Riding:1980 Dickon Hinchliffe, who was a founder member of The Tindersticks, his multi-instrumentalist talents and string arrangements adding a lush sheen to their unique sound. And for Red Riding:1983 the music is written by Barrington Pheloung. He is a composer and conductor of international renown. He wrote perhaps one of the most identifiable themes in small screen history, Inspector Morse, as well as all the music for the 33 episode series.
