Shirley Walker/Danny Elfman's The Flash
8-Feb-2010 - From La-La Land Records comes a 2 CD-set with the World Premiere release of the score to the 1990/1991 Warner Bros./DC Comics television series The Flash. The story: In a freak accident, police scientist Barry Allen is struck by lightning and doused in chemicals. Barry discovers that this accident has made him the fastest man alive, able to move at nearly the speed of sound. With the help of STAR Labs scientist Tina McGee, he learns to control his powers... but when his older brother Jay (a motorcycle cop) is killed in the line of duty, Barry asks Tina to make him a special costume that can withstand the rigors of hyperspeed travel. He sets forth to clean up the streets of Central City as The Flash. Building off of Danny Elfman’s rousing theme, Shirley Walker composes and conducts an exhilarating orchestral super-hero score. Produced by Ford A. Thaxton, this two-disc release features over 2 hours of astounding music and includes in-depth liner notes by Randall D. Larson. This is a limited edition of 3000 copies.
