New from Film Score Monthly
9-Nov-2001 - Two new releases from Film Score Monthly. In the Silver Age Classics series, The World of Henry Orient (1964) a wonderful, joyful score by Elmer Bernstein, bouncing with melody and life. It is one of the cinema's all-time greatest scores for a movie involving children, but only Elmer Bernstein's second-greatest work in that genre.
The new Golden Age Classics CD showcases the talents of two of cinema's greatest composers, Elmer Bernstein and Bernard Herrmann. The CD combines two previously unreleased scores from the 1950s for socially relevant films directed by Philip Dunne: The View from Pompey's Head (1955) and Blue Denim (1959). The scores are remixed in stereo from the original multitrack sessions.
