Ennio Morricone's Hornet's Nest
12-Aug-2010 - Quartet Records in Spain has released the first solo edition of the classic war score Hornet's Nest, written in 1970 by Ennio Morricone, directed by Phil Karlson and starring Rock Hudson. It's the story of a commando unit, which is dropped behind the German lines in Italy and its mission is to blow up a strategic dam. However, the unit is ambushed and only its leader survives. He is picked up by a ragtag group of local youths, who strike a bargain with him--they will help him blow the dam if he will help them get revenge on the Germans, who have taken over their village and killed their parents.Newly mastered by Claudio Fuiano from the original master tapes, this long awaited edition contains 12 pages booklet full of colour stills and a text by the original producer, Lukas Kendall. This is Quartet Records' final chapter of re-editions from the FSM’MGM Treasure Box. This is a limited edition of 1,000 copies.
