New from Intrada...
26-Jul-2011 - A much wanted re-issue in the Intrada Special Collection is Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins. Composer Craig Safan writes with interesting use of the brass section as one giant percussion device - in fact, at times the entire orchestra plays resounding rhythmic ideas as complete themes unto themselves. Exciting! For this CD Intrada uses the same 1/4" 15 ips two-track stereo mixes (from the composer) as the previous release but happily fixes the incorrect channel balance issue for the first time. The complex score requires a large orchestra, adds a vibrant array of synthesizers, then adds layer of authentic Korean musicians. This is a limited edition of 1000 copies.
Also in the Intrada Special Collection the world premiere 2-CD release of the complete Henry Mancini score for The Moneychangers. Film has four parts, Intrada CDs present parts 1 & 2 on the first disc, 3 & 4 on the second disc. Over two hours of music! Mancini offers an incredible array of material, from a memorable main theme, a haunting love theme to signature combo pieces, rousing action. A sensational work from a genuine master of the craft! Though CBS made the license available, the release only became possible when the bass trombonist for the original sessions located 1/4" full-track (mono) safeties of the complete score, recorded over several days. This is a limited editon of 1500 copies.
