Richard Mitchell's Moby Dick
1-Dec-2011 - Alhambra Records has released the score for Moby Dick. In the expensive - 18 million Euro - remake of the classic Moby Dick, Captain Ahab is this time played by William Hurt. The role of the first Officer is played by Ethan Hake. The director is Mike Barker, who also has filmed Der Seewolf. At his side again is Richard Mitchell, who also wrote the music for Der Seewolf. The maritime music of more than 70 minutes was recorded with the Chaigley Symphony Orchestra and Choir. The music is a dense atmospheric music that feels like the listener him/herself is on the high seas, hunting Moby Dick. At the end of the more than 72-minute CD, there is the folk tune "Lowlands." This is film music in his best style that also works well without seeing the film.
The score is available from Amazon.com, Amazon UK, Amazon France and Amazon Germany.
