Danny Elfman's Dark Shadows
26-May-2012 - Watertower Music has released the score for Dark Shadows, an American supernatural drama comedy film based on the 1966-1971 gothic soap opera of the same name. The film is directed by Tim Burton and stars Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, a 200-year-old vampire, as well as Michelle Pfeiffer as his cousin Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, a reclusive matriarch of the Collins family. Danny Elfman did a remarkable job composing the material that sets the tone of the film as it is haunting, dramatic, funny and heartfelt. Upon hearing the CD you can tell Danny wrote the music while keeping the original score of "Dark Shadows" in mind. Older fans who watched the ABC serial will not be disappointed in hearing the music for the motion picture.
