Lakeshore Records releases Enemies Closer
22-Feb-2014 -

Lakeshore Records will release the Enemies Closer – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally
and through Amazon-On-Demand on February 25, 2014.
The soundtrack features original music by Tony Morales.

“This movie is an action-packed thriller,” said Morales. “[Director] Peter Hyams
wanted a high octane score that would match.”

After a major shipment of drugs goes missing on the US-Canadian border, forest ranger and former Navy SEAL Henry is plunged into survival mode when the drug cartel forces him to help retrieve the downed package. Trapped in the wilderness with no communication to the outside world, Henry finds himself face to face with Clay, a man with a personal vendetta against Henry who has returned for retribution. Now, the two mortal enemies must make a choice: put aside their past and work together, or die alone at the hands of the drug runners, a ruthless gang who will stop at nothing to retrieve their lost cargo.

“The music for Enemies Closer is a mix of orchestral instrumentation laced with electronic textures and percussion,” said Morales.
“I created a handful of motifs to use throughout the film. The main and most used one was written for Xander, the film’s villain played brilliantly by Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Emmy-nominated Tony Morales began his career as a staff composer within the commercial music division of Hans Zimmer’s Media Ventures in 1998. Since that time he has gone on to compose numerous scores for film and television including Gopher Broke, which received an Oscar nomination for Best Animated Short in 2005, Hide Away, an official selection of the 2011 SXSW Film Festival, Unguarded, an ESPN documentarywhich was nominated for two Sports Emmys, and Hatfields & McCoys (co-composed with John Debney), which earned Morales his first Emmy-nomination.

Tony Morales’ upcoming projects include In Your Eyes (written by Joss Whedon), Night Has Settled, which debuted at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on February 1st, and The Bag Man (starring Robert De Niro and John Cusack, co-composed with Edward Rogers). He composed the music for the Dreamworks Animation short Rocky and Bullwinkle, which will be released in 2014.
