The May-releases from Varese Sarabande
4-May-2002 - May 7, Varese Sarabande will release the 1975 cult classic Rollerball, with the music of Bach, Beethoven and Tchaikovsky and performed by Andre Previn and the London Symphony Orchestra. Making its CD debut, ROLLERBALL features deluxe packaging showcasing the stunning portfolio of artwork created for the film by the legendary Bob Peak!
On May 14 there are four releases, starting with Insomnia. Nothing is what it seems in this new film from writer/director Christopher Nolan. The dark, foreboding and menacing score is by newcomer David Julyan, who previously worked with director Nolan on his award-winning Memento.
The gargantuan score by David Newman for Ice Age is a highlight of the film and is expected to be a best-selling soundtrack. It's a wild adventure, exciting and fun. Newman's score is one of the finest of the year.
After a newly ten-year absence, the wait is finally over: Jason Voorhees returns in Jason X, with a haunting score by Friday the 13th composer Harry Manfredini. A must for the numerous Jason-lovers!
And finally on May 14 Jan Kaczmarek's beautiful score for Unfaithful, directed by Adrian Lyne and starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane.
