New from Film Score Monthly
24-Jun-2002 - Film Score Monthly surprises us with two new releases.
The first one, in the Silver Age Classic series, is a combination of the scores for Point Blank (1967), with music by Johnny Mandel, and for The Outfit (1974), with music by Jerry Fielding. FSM's doubleheader is entirely in stereo (save "Mighty Good Times") and comes with an illustrated 24-page booklet.
For the second release, in the Golden Age Classic series, FSM tackles a film composer gravely unrepresented on CD with a doubleheader by Ernest Gold: On the Beach (1959) and The Secret of Santa Vittoria (1969), both films directed by Stanley Kramer, with whom Gold shared his most fruitful collaboration. This CD premiere features the stereo LP configurations of both On the Beach and The Secret of Santa Vittoria
