11-May-2003 - In June DRG Records will release 3 famous classic scores: The original music from Harlow (1965), available for the first time on CD, was composed, conducted and arranged by Neal Hefti, one of the top jazz arranger/composers of the 1950s (Hefti is most popularly known as the composer of the theme and incidental music for the 60's series Batman). Baby Doll, the controversial (at the time) 1956 film, starring Karl Malden and two brilliant newcomers to the screen, Carroll Baker and Eli Wallach. The score is from Kenyon Hopkins. who went on to become the music director of TV series such as Love American Style, The Brady Bunch and The Odd Couple. First time on CD! The 1958 original soundtrack presents the thrilling music for The Buccaneer, composed by Elmer Bernstein. This was one of the most lavish and exciting screen spectacles of the time. The film boasts an international cast that includes Yul Brynner, Claire Bloom, Charles Boyer and Charlton Heston.
