Georges Delerue's Chouans!
23-May-2003 - Disques Cinémusique in Canada has re-released Georges Delerue's long out-of-print score for Chouans! (1988), directed by Philippe deBroca and starring Philippe Noiret, Sophie Marceau and Jean-Pierre Cassel. The perfectly remastered music is in Delerue's trademarked melodic, warm style. The vigorous, catching main theme with rich variations alternates with lighter pieces that, though reminiscent of baroque music, are a cut above ordinary pastiches. A must have, not only for the Delerue-fan!
