FSM's July releases with a bonus!
2-Jul-2003 - Film Score Monthly has released in the Silver Age Classics two classic Georges Delerue albums from 1967: Our Mother's House is a British gothic horror/character study of seven children who proceed with life as usual after their mother passes away; and The 25th Hour is a large-scale Holocaust drama starring Anthony Quinn.
In the Golden Age Classics a splendid Americana score by Jerome Moross to the 1960 M-G-M family film The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn of Mark Twain's classic novel. The CD features the complete score in newly remixed stereo, as well as bonus tracks of songs by Burton Lane and Alan Lerner.
The fascinating Bonus CD (Free for Classic Charter Club Members!) features three scores written to the same film: The Appointment, a 1969 romantic drama directed by Sidney Lumet. First is Michel Legrand's unused music; then the international theatrical score by John Barry (theme) and Don Walker (adaptation and orchestration); then the U.S. television score by Stu Phillips. The CD is entirely in stereo.
