The August releases of the Varèse CD Club
12-Aug-2003 - ...and finally … here it is! Perhaps the most famous and requested unreleased film score of the 1980s, Alan Silvestri’s Predator is at last available. An expanded symphony orchestra with an enormous battery of percussion is shown off to spectacular effect in one of the most heart-stopping, adrenaline-pumping action scores of the time.
Unavailable for over thirty years, Jerry Goldsmith’s score for George Cukor’s 1969 film Justine is available once more, and is more complete than ever. Along with the album recording, this CD presents, for the first time anywhere, the original soundtrack recording from the film.
To follow the releases of The Virgin Queen and Beloved Infidel, Varèse Sarabande now inducts Franz Waxman’s lavish 1960 score for The Story of Ruth into their CD Club Hall of Fame. No soundtrack album was ever issued, besides a concert suite from the score. In a major restoration undertaking, Varèse Sarabande Records and Twentieth Century Fox are proud to present over seventy minutes of Waxman’s powerful music from The Story of Ruth.
