Normand Corbeil's The Statement
17-Jan-2004 - Varèse Sarabande has released the score for The Statement, a contemporary political thriller based on a novel by Brian Moore. Set in modern day France, it is the story of Pierre Brossard who, as a young man, was a Nazi executioner under the Vichy regime. Brossard has never been brought to trial and has lived a peaceful and anonymous life until a new investigation into his crimes is launched. The score, composed in a style reminiscent of Bernard Herrmann’s work for Alfred Hitchcock, is a powerful and dramatic one by newcomer Normand Corbeil.
