FSM's May releases
9-May-2004 - In their Golden Age Classics series, Film Score Monthly has released The Swan (1956), starring Grace Kelly, Alec Guinness and Louis Jourdan. This premiere CD features Bronislau Kaper's complete original score in stereo, remixed from the original 3-track masters; as well as the brief passages recorded specifically for the album, in monaural sound, as they were recorded.
In the Silver Age Classics series comes The Shoes Of The Fisherman (1968), one of Alex North's large-scale symphonic masterpieces. This premiere 2CD set features the complete underscore on disc one, remixed in stereo from the six-track 35mm masters, including a bonus section of additional and alternate cues. Disc two of this release is a "bonus disc" of additional recordings: source music and pop-based alternates for The Shoes of the Fisherman; Michel Legrand's demo recordings for Ice Station Zebra and Ron Goodwin's LP re-recording of Where Eagles Dare.
