John Williams' The Terminal
12-Jun-2004 - Decca has released The Terminal, the story of Viktor Navorski (Tom Hanks), a visitor to New York City from Eastern Europe, whose homeland erupts in a fiery coup while he is in the air. Stranded at John F. Kennedy International Airport with a passport from nowhere, he is unauthorized to enter the U.S. and must improvise his stay in the terminal's transit lounge until the war at home is over. John Williams created a musical portrait for Viktor that has an ethnic feel, featuring a clarinet in his themes, which is in the idiom of so much Eastern European music.
