Mychael Danna's Being Julia

12-Nov-2004 - Varèse Sarabande has released Being Julia, a delicious tale of amorous folly and revenge set in the world of the London stage in the late 1930s. The film prominently features performances of such classic standards as Mad About the Boy, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes, Life Is Just A Bowl of Cherries and They Didn’t Believe Me. The score by Mychael Danna is absolutely lovely. This is what Hollywood Reporter had to say about the score: "Mychael Danna’s score is old-fashioned in the best possible way as it stays in the background yet lets the romance of a mythical life of theater and champagne seep through along with a soundtrack of classic standards from that period."
