Jerry Goldsmith's The Chairman
3-Jun-2005 - Prometheus Records presents the original motion picture soundtrack to The Chairman, the 1969 political spy thriller starring Gregory Peck and Arthur Hill, directed by J. Lee Thompson. Written in the midst of his most fertile filmscoring period, Jerry Goldsmith returns to the Far East once again with a score that contains a martial theme for Mao's China and one of his most beautiful love themes, in addition to some great vintage action writing. Previously released on compact disc in less than stellar sound, PROMETHEUS RECORDS presents a new release of THE CHAIRMAN taken from the analog stereo masters for the album, newly remastered. In addition, the music has been re-sequenced to more closely resemble film order.
