Biography
In 1996 Adrian Johnston scored his first feature film - Jude - and has subsequently scored more than 20 other features, most recently Kinky Boots, Isolation and Lassie.
For television he has been BAFTA nominated for The Lost Prince, Tipping the Velvet, Perfect Strangers and Our Mutual Friend. He won an Emmy for his score to Shackleton.
He has written and performed live music for silent films and has recorded two feature length silent film scores : Andre Antoine’s La Terre (1921) and Hot Water (1924) starring Harold Lloyd.
Adrian has also written some 70 scores for diverse theatre companies, including the Citizens Theatre, Glasgow, the RSC and National Theatre and has collaborated on several award winning dance projects : Strange Fish and Enter Achilles for DV8, Touched and Birds. He has also been a drummer with various groups, including The Waterboys and The Mike Flowers Pops.
Several of his soundtracks have been released commercially : Jude, Welcome to Sarajevo, All the King’s Men, Shackleton, Perfect Strangers, Lawless Heart, Gideon’s Daughter/Friends and Crocodiles, Kinky Boots.
